In the Genmab cell culture laboratory, the cell culture for the discovery research takes place in biosafety cabinets. Researchers from various international backgrounds have different ways of working. For many, education/training on microbiology and working in LAF cabinets has been a long time ago. The aim for the near future is to work with harmonized procedures in order to reduce the contaminations and the need to discard batches.
A core group of key employees, (senior) research associates, SMEs, lab monitors, should be trained on best practices which they can translate into internal training of current researchers and new comers.
